Wish Beta Client available for download

As of yesterday the Wish open beta client is available for download on Fileplanet's download servers.
According to the developers Wish aint a regular MMORPG but a UMMORPG which stands for Ultra Massively Multiplayer Role Playing Game. It supports more than 10,000 simultaneous players in a single word without zoning (splitting the world into several zones).
You can register to play for free at the Mutable Realms Website and download the client right now but the beta does not start before January 1, 2005. Delaying the start by one week is a very smart move considering the client weights 1.2 GB :)

A major massively multiplayer game out there has gone free. With a tricky offer - namely everybody who registers in the next month gets to play 1 year for free - they supply a nice X-Mas present for online gamers. After Guild Wars this may be the second major free MMOG to watch. It has been around for some time of course... but hey, it's free. Right now the Bittorrent download is available via over 8000 peers. Actually I am downloading at 200 kb/s right now :)

In a unique move Funcom is removing all cost barriers in the ultimate sci-fi MMORPG, allowing all new players to enter and stay, free of cost! At the same time Funcom is departing from the obligatory need to register with a credit card, making for an easier entrance and registration process."

Ubisoft's latest Prince of Persia game came out this weekend.
This is how the original adventure game Prince of Persia looks in 2004. Lots of action - and gore - guaranteed.
Just for the sake of comparison:
The Sands of time: Warrior Within vs. the original PoP
This is one of the titles you'll buy for christmas if you don't like pure first person shooters like Half Life 2.
For the X-Box owners, Warrior Within supports 2 different online modes: Time Attack and Arena Survival. They both support the X-Box Live online scoreboards. However you wont be able to play the singleplayer mode in Coop mode as of now. Especially the time attack mode looks interesting. The clock is influenced by the different effects of the sands of time (eg. slowdown), so beating other players online will require a good share of strategy.

Just wondering... when will World of Warcraft work in Germany? :/

While the english WoW has gone live about a week ago, Blizzard Europe is still testing the game with yet another beta test to come. Thus you can still play World of Warcraft for free without using private server hacks or anything alike if you remember some of your german classes ;)
I got the chance to test WoW final for a couple of days and I'm impressed by the connectivity of Blizzard's servers. Playing on their realms is very fluent without any "zoning" or major lags. Thumbs up for Blizzard on this one!
