Extreme Games Assault Cup (EGAC)

Extreme Games Assault Cup (EGAC)

If you know Unreal Tournament's Assault Mode, it will take you a whole 2 seconds to understand the concept of EGAC.
Just a couple of weeks after EGSC there is a big league just around the corner.

Players are free to form their own, custom teams in EGAC. That means we will see lots of inter-squad Assault teams which, from my point of view, is very interesting and serves the competition in Extreme Games. Assault Cup feautures tiny bases which are hard to defend... but on the other hand the attackers only have 6 minutes to attack so it's pretty balanced. Right now there is only a temporary beta map in ?go #egac so there is no way to tell how the final map will look like. 3 bases are still missing plus you can't fly thru the tunnels yet.
Settings aint ready yet as well. Judging by the map layout I would say that it will use turf style flags which are fixed instead of the usual carry-and-drop flagging. When I went there to test the map I could pick up flags in center... so It's pretty easy to tell that the arena settings aren't completely done yet.

All in all it's an interesting concept. EGAC is player-run, has new bases, new settings, new team sizes (6 players per team) and teams.

If team sign-ups go well, it will be impossible to predict the Cup winner. It will be interesting to see how well players adapt to the new gameplay with is very fast and without many bells and whistles.

I'm off to watch portugal-greece now - 1:0 greece 6th minute ;)
