World of Warcraft : Largest MMORPG in the world

World of Warcraft becomes largest MMORPG in the world

After the successful launch of World of Warcraft in China, reaching 1.5million subscribers within only 1 month, WoW is now officially the biggest MMORPG out there.
The previous record holder, Lineage 2, has lost a part of its market share to the Blizzard game.

That being said, the european WoW servers are much less packed with players these days than they used to be. Could be because of the holidays or because people stop playing - fact is that especially the RP realms suffer from a recently low population.

I mean, where's the "massively multiplayer" part of the game when you don't meet a single person while questing from level 30 to 32 and the only actual people you can talk to are your guild mates ;)

World of Warcraft EU 1.60 Update

World of Warcraft 1.60 patch available for download

Yesterday Blizzard patched the EU versions of their MMORPG up to version 1.60.
It supposedly fixes some character related bugs and was intended to be specifically a fix for Hunters and Warlocks. Also, the talent trees of Warlocks and Warriors were changed so all players using these chars get all their talent points back and can redistribute them for free.

On another note, the european WoW site was down nearly all day yesterday and patch downloads were horribly slowed down.

And then there was hell on earth when all servers were shut down later in the day. I'm awaiting another free compensation day before my subscribtion runs out :)
